Effluvium is a type of generalized fall and could say quite radical.
In short when we say that there has been a drop by say effluvium is a very general fall (losing about 80% of hair), in a short period of time and without following any regular pattern (eg there is no typical pattern Input-top that exists in AGA).

Although it may seem a very traumatic alopecia type by its characteristics has the advantage that the hair falling is recovered in more than 90% in most cases spontaneously (or rather when they cease the causes that led).

We can say that the hair is one of the following phases of growth: anagen, catagen and telogen. Generally only about 10-15% of hair found in catagen or telogen phase.

In the anagen phase is where there is hair growth. Anagen effluvium is that because a particular cause the formation of hair on the disc is affected, as the case may cause the hair to grow finer or if the trauma is greater than the hair to fall as it has been interrupted training.

Features

As an emanation drop is fairly radical and very severe and can lead to total baldness in a very short period of time. But still there are certain characteristics that this type of outpouring diferncias with telogen effluvium.

It is totally reversible, recovering hair about 2 months after it ceases cause that produced it.
It usually occurs between 7 and 14 days after the cause that has caused
The lack of hair is apparent between 1 and 2 months after the beginning of the fall.
Pulls 40 or 50 hairs painless (the hair falls out easily)
The hairs are heavily pigmented and have a long root.
The anagen-telogen ratio remains at 15%, which rules out the majority of other types of alopecia.
Is a type of non-scarring alopecia.
The study under a microscope can see that the follicle maintains its characteristics. This is crucial to distinguish it from other types of alopecia (AGA. ..)

Causes

As we have seen before the odor is one of its main features that the hair recovers about two-three months after the cessation of the causes that had caused this kind of outpouring. So it is very important to determine which are these:

Malnutrition
Iron deficiency
Endocrine disorders
Infections
Chemotherapy
Exposure to chromium, boron, thallium,
Drugs such as cyclosporine, levodopa …

It is also worth noting that after an intervention capillary grafted hair falls out in the majority, then grow from 3 months. This is completely normal, it is also a clear case of anagen effluvium. They also say that in this case is not transplanted hair that falls off the aggression which is a hair transplant (which grows back in about 4 months approx.).

Treatment

Currently the best treatment exists for the odor (either anagen or telogen) to determine the causes that started this type of alopecia, and make stops. Once achieved, the hair will grow as before and recover the previous appearance.

Logically this should be taken with caution as it is very possible that not recover 100% of the loss. This is because in many cases the patient in question suffers from AGA and suffers from a certain stage effluvium. In this case to have some weak areas because of the AGA, is more than possible that these hairs do not grow back. That is why it is estimated that recricimiento is not 100% but it is over an approximately 80%.

Although this is the only thing that is really useful, many doctors prescribe this drug minoxidil and has an effect on hair cycles. Not thought to “cure” the odor (that can only be achieved by ceasing the causes that originated), but if it is able to accelerate the process of growth, decreasing 3 or 4 months shorter empires.

Effluvium is a type of generalized fall and we could tell pretty nutshell Rooting when we say that there has been a drop by say effluvium hair loss is a fairly general (losing about 80% of hair), in a short period time and without following any regular pattern (for example there is the typical entry-top pattern that exists in AGA).

Although it may seem a very traumatic alopecia type by its characteristics has the advantage that the hair falling is recovered in more than 90% in most cases spontaneously (or rather when they cease the causes that led).

We can say that the hair is one of the following phases of growth: anagen, catagen and telogen. Generally only about 10-15% of hair found in catagen or telogen phase).

In the anagen phase is where there is hair growth. Telogen effluvium is that because a particular cause hair most go to the telogen phase, so that the period of about two months the hair starts to fall.

Features

As an emanation drop is fairly radical and very severe and can lead to total baldness in a very short period of time. But still there are certain characteristics that this type of outpouring diferncias with telogen effluvium.

The lack of hair is apparent between 2 and 4 months after that originates telogen step.
The hairs are not heavily pigmented.
It is a type of non-scarring alopecia.
Can lead to a chronic process.

Telogen effluvium is diagnosed when more than 25-30% of hairs are in telogen.

Causes

As we have seen before the odor is one of its main features that the hair recovers about two-three months after the cessation of the causes that had caused this kind of outpouring. So it is very important to determine which are these:
Hormonal
Drug
Heavy metals: Arsenic, lead
Changes in diet
Chemotherapy
Infections

It is also worth noting that after an intervention hair after about two-three months is quite common a significant drop. This fall commonly called shock-loss is but telogen effluvium caused by the aggression is a intervencion.Este hair grows back in its majority after about 4-5 months.

Treatment

Currently the best treatment exists for the odor (either anagen or telogen) to determine the causes that started this type of alopecia, and make stops. Once achieved, the hair will grow as before and recover the previous appearance.

Although it is noteworthy that in the case of telogen effluvium seems to work better now unknown reason.

A diet lacking in essential nutrients, thyroid problems, infections, stress, anemia, excessive cosmetics (dyes, straightening iron), are factors that undoubtedly collaborate with alopecia.

The side effects of some treatments can also cause hair loss.

Chemotherapy or radiation is one example.

However, Androgenetic Alopecia or Androgen is the most common and affected in some way, to most men.

90% of men older than 21 years shows a downturn in the frontotemporal area (inputs) and 50% of men over age 40 have the crown area depopulated.

To be clear, 5 of 10 men (over 40) suffer from alopecia in both areas of the scalp and 9 out of 10 (higher than 21 years) with alopecia only in the entries (see left column).

Important:

Remember it is absolutely normal to lose about a hundred hairs a day. Alopecia is diagnosed when new hairs are thinner than normal. We must not confuse a “hair thin” with alopecia because there are many people who have always had fine hair or looks weak. This does not necessarily mean alopecia.

In androgenetic alopecia, responsible for hair loss are the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase and the hormone testosterone. The enzyme converts testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), who ultimately is responsible for reducing the follicles, causing the membranes of the scalp from becoming rigid.

Thus, the follicular structure receives less blood supply and new hairs are weaker than normal and fine.

At the end of the process, the follicles atrophy and hair that falls out is not replaced by new hair.

We have studied the levels of DHT in individuals with androgenetic alopecia usually normal. Therefore, science has determined that there is a high level of DHT which causes hair loss but a particular sensitivity of the follicles against DHT.

Treatments that inhibit the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase have good results just because they prevent the production of DHT.

Testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT)

The hair follicles receive testosterone (blue) and blood (red) of blood vessels.
The enzyme 5-alpha reductase (5AR) converts testosterone into DHT (yellow).

DHT affect normal hair growth

In men genetically predisposed to hair loss, when DHT levels rise following happens:

1 – shortens the growth phase (anagen).
2 – The shrinking follicles producing thinner hair.
3 – The number of visible hairs is reduced.

The fox lost his hair but not the tricks. In fact, it loses twice a year.

The word “alopecia” descends from the Greek word “Alopex” which means “fox.” The Royal Spanish Academy defines alopecia as “fall or pathological loss of hair.” Maybe it’s a short definition but it is more than right.

Alopecia is the fall prematurely or absence of hair in one or more parts of the body. Its causes are many and the types of alopecia are classified as follows:

Non-scarring alopecia:

They are very common and may improve or be cured through treatment and some even revert spontaneously without being treated. In this type of alopecia hair follicle has a pathological behavior but still alive unless alopecia extending over very long periods (common or androgenetic alopecia).

Can be classified as follows:

Androgenic alopecia, is also known as androgenetic alopecia or common baldness premature. It affects many men and women rarely.

If you suffer from androgenetic alopecia, as most men, I recommend having a look to the left and check on the Norwood Scale what type/grade of alopecia you have.

Will be very useful to know if any treatment can give results. If your level is very advanced (5, 6 or 7) will have to consider surgery or simply accept that you are bald. There are no treatments that have proven effective in less advanced degrees.

Androgens are the hormones responsible for hair loss and that is why many of the current treatments inhibit the production of them.

If baldness continues to advance and hair follicles die, the process becomes irreversible and no treatment to restore the situation. Can only be repaired by transplanting living follicles from other areas to the crown and tickets, a Hair transplant. Ideally, of course, is to fight the fall while the follicles are alive.

Women are more fortunate than the man as androgenetic alopecia appears only in the front of the scalp, leaving hair more sparse but on rare occasions it can be completely depopulated areas and in man.

Alopecia areata:

The cause is unknown but the symptoms are clear: head round patches of hair completely deserted. Alopecia totalis (AT) is when you completely lose scalp hair. In cases of Alopecia universalis (AU) is losing hair around the body.

There are still no fully effective treatments for this type of alopecia. Therapies that are used with medium results are: ultraviolet light, topical corticosteroids, steroid injections or to excite irritants follicle stimulating hair growth.

COMMENTS

With age for both men and women lose hair density. Men develop a typical pattern of baldness, which is associated with the presence of testosterone (male hormone). In women, pattern baldness or hair loss is more diffuse. Usually the hair loss baldness is gradual and limited to head hair.

The typical hereditary baldness trend affects 25% of men before age 30 and another 50% before 60 years.

Keep in mind that the overall mean is to have more than 100,000 individual hairs and baldness can lose 100 hairs a day.

Each hair has a lifespan of 4 to 5 years, growing from 1 to 2 cm per month, after falls. At 6 months a new hair grows in the same place, but there is a loss baldness control of this replacement and therefore the same note. In itself there is a hair loss but a lack of new output.

CAUSES OF HAIR FALL

Alopecia areata
Hormonal disorders (goiter, elevated DHT)
Febrile
Age of person
Severe systemic disease
Stress
Excess vitamin A
Family heritage
Excessive washing
Cancer medication
Nervousness
Burns
Radiotherapy
Tricolitomanía (compulsion to remove hair)

TREATMENT AND DIAGNOSIS

When the causes are secondary (stress, medication, fever, etc …) the hair back to its level when the cause ceases.
For hereditary hair loss or baldness is minoxidil use or finasteride are drugs used for other problems and diseases, and noted that as a side effect produced excess hair. This side effect to good use in the scalp has a beneficial effect in stopping baldness or improve, depending on each individual.

If the hair falls out quickly and without apparent cause should consult with your doctor.
Your doctor will perform an analytical study and hormonal general for possible root causes and not hereditary.

The total or partial loss of hair, called generalized or localized alopecia or baldness. Alopecia can have different causes, the most common is androgenic, there occurs a progressive weakness of the hair follicle stimulated by a hormone called 5-alpha-dihydrotestosterone.

If not treated in time this progressive impairment culminating in a final follicle atrophy, impossible to recover. Also there is the weakening of the hair follicle over the years due to an oily scalp.

In man calvivie begins at any time of life after puberty and is characterized by a delay in the frontoparietal hairline hair, kicking off the so-called “inputs” and later affects the vertex, upper central scalp. Are always respected the lateral and posterior regions, as the follicles respond differently to equivalent concentrations of the hormone.

In women, this disease usually occurs after menopause, loss of estrogen protection, although it may occur earlier. The distribution of hair loss is more widespread, respects the hairline hair. Leads to a progressive thinning of hair that, combined with the loss of color, allowing the scalp is visible.

Hair loss is usually associated with the presence of seborrhea, which does not indicate that this is causal, but generally there is a colonization of the scalp affected by certain bacteria that produce sebum and aid in the process of hair follicle microinflamatorio together to hormonal stimulation, resulting in the decreased activity mentioned it.

The treatment is designed to counteract these changes and adapts to each particular need. Can be used topically applied products, both in office and at home, mesotherapy, and if necessary be supplemented by oral treatment.

The deep cleansing scalp massage and hair shampoos nettle provide very useful to prevent hair thinning as well as give greater thickness and appearance to hair weakened.

It is extremely useful to complement that provided by the use of high frequency currents and massage hair and that will provide a significant vasodilation, improving blood flow to the weakened follicles and thereby improving their arrival in the products used, nutrients and waste disposal, in addition to its antibacterial properties that control the seborrhea.

Lately, with new technologies and products for baldness treatment is very efficient, and can prevent hair loss with a countless number of treatments and products ranging from hair implants hair by hair, laser therapy, massage, mesotherapy , hygiene and hair shampoos specially formulated for this purpose.

Speaking of androgenic alopecia refers to the most common type of baldness that affects 40% of the adult population, both men and women. This type of alopecia usually occurs from the 40 years since fallen back to regenerate hair growing weaker and disappear.

The first symptoms appear androgenic alopecia hair loss at the crown area or at the entrances of the skull. These zones begin to depopulate in the case of men, while women suffer from hair loss concentrated in the front that although depopulation fails to leave hair more sparse.

This new discovery about the genetic variants, help predict who might be suffering from alopecia and thus be able to solve or stop to hair loss. Thus, the gene therapy are positioned as the solution for the future in order to correct the faulty genes and prevent hair loss.

From a time now have published several studies on new discoveries to solve hair loss, as the study that reported on the possibility of follicular regeneration in wounds of mice. This time, scientists at the University of Bonn (Germany) and King’s College London (United Kingdom) have identified new genetic factors linked to hair loss.

This study showed that two genetic variants could be multiplied sevenfold risk of baldness. This discovery is a breakthrough for hair care specialists so as to provide a solution to hair loss.

As published in the journal Nature Genetics, these new genetic variations are present in 14% of the population, and could multiply by seven the risk of androgenic alopecia, the well-known hair loss.

While this opens a promising news regarding the alopecia, the solution to baldness is imminent so the researcher Brent Richards said: “We have identified the cause. Finding an effective treatment need more research, but certainly we have the first step towards this goal. ”

Baldness is a problem that many people suffer. Some time ago suffering from alopecia was justified in a matter of age or a purely genetic. But today many people, regardless of sex and age, suffer from hair loss. Several factors influence this hair problem as food, stress, environmental pollution, abuse of certain hair beauty techniques, among others. Many specialists in hair care products offer solutions both for prevention and treatment possible solution to baldness. Currently micrografting hair transplant or is the most demanded and, in turn, provides the best results.

The Pathophysiology of both male and female alopecia (hair loss) are not yet fully understood and its treatment is unsatisfactory. Factors that low scalp blood flow, lack of food and had hair on vitamins, neurogenic results, bacteriology, etc.

drove inflammatory changes varies, are studied. Some alopecias known, but current type in both men and women is androgenic, that is induced by the androgenic hormone (AH) striking the scalp hair follicles. AH is important in the physiology of skin, promoting the growth of beard and body hair alive. The growth of scalp hair also depends on AH, but only in early life away. It’s not even why AH, with increasing age, changes to promote growth of scalp hair loss are explained to, known as a conditioning induce androgenic effluvium (AE) and alopecia (AGA),. In hirsutism and acne vulgaris was abundant HUIDAH shocked to be the major factor in these complex syndromes.

The AH may be her only on the androgenic receptor (AR), a cellular protein transcription factor measures which interact with a specific area of DNA interacts. Thus, both testosterone and its stronger analogue, 5-alpha-dihydrotestosterone (DHT), must go to the AR in the hair follicles to bind her to take.

Antiandrogens (AA) is systemically administered drugs that inhibit the AH that binds to AR. Originally developed to treat prostate cancer, these compounds, since they impede AR systemically significant side effects, including loss of libido and risks of male sexual function. These drugs are not used in men for the AE or AGA treatment to anyone, even locally, since it is well resorbed by the skin and is stable in vivo. Local steroidal AA as cyproterone acetate, chlormadinone acetate and spironolactone was not successful, presumably because of poor absorption into the skin, some have a skin irritation potential.

AA administered systemically were proposed for the treatment of women suffering from AE and AGA (Ref. # 1), but concerns for side effects calls for clinical studies. It is generally, at least in men, prolonged AR blockade leads to AR change and knew that the mutant receptor reaches the capacity of other substances such as various steroidal metabolites and even progestogens and estrogen, insulin-like growth factor, epidermal growth factor and keratinocyte growth factor and neuroendocrine transmitters such as serotonin is activated. It has also been shown that the AR gene increased the AR blockade. It is therefore apparent that the treatment of hair loss in women by blocking AR with systemic AA is not ideal and that the men would be acceptable to everyone are not.

Currently available for treatment of AE and AGA are local Minoxidil and its analog, including Aminexil and oral finasteride (Ref. # 2). Minoxidil, a medicine for high blood pressure medication, avoid accompanying hair loss and size, promotes regrowth, but only in the top scalp, the activity is tentatively by activation of the prostaglandin endo-peroxide synthase-1, increased local blood flow, including others, suppression of bacterial infection and / or a change in the AH metabolism in the dermal papilla explained. (Refs. 3,4,5).

Took finasteride orally daily and suppresses conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and thus does the AH activity in the scalp down. The studies indicate about half of the men reached improvements in the low to mid-scalp prior to moderate and approximately one-half, was arrested the effluvium. Side effects include decreased libido and erectile function after drug withdrawal disappear. (Ref. # 6) No studies are available to prove whether such a long-term systemic manipulation of hormonal balance is compensated.

Clearly, a locally active antiandrogen that instead of impeding HUIDAR suppressed, and while not absorbable by the body skin irritant, are useful in the treatment of AH dependent skin mart.

We designed and proposed a number of novel anti-androgens and found that only together, rather than hinder, suppressed the AR in a concentration-dependent fashion and control.

Some of these compounds displayed extremely low or no systemic bioavailability of oral and / or local application. The group homes with the best overall properties of local active suppression of huidandrogen receptors proved BP-766 (Fluridil) tool, given the rapidly degradable in two components of high systemic and local tolerance without antiandrogenic activity. It therefore provides a novel concept in health and cosmetic treatment androgenic effluvium and alopecia novice as well as other skin conditions such as hirsutism of the abundance of the skin depends on male hormones in both men and women.
